    Hello, all!

I'g desperate for assist. I am making my Christmas gift tags this year and I am using the Versamark Watermark ink for heat embossing. The stamps, fifty-fifty if I clean them with stamp cleaner, are sticky, gum-y, and nasty. I've even tried soap and water. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

  • Shutterbugg

Are yous using acrylic stamps or wood mounted rubber stamps?

  • Scrappintrey

Sorry, I knew I should have said that...thought about information technology, but didn't write it. I am using clear acrylic stamps. It's all over my mounting blocks, also, and I can't get it off.

  • Scrappin Kitty

I've had that issue besides before, ended up having to scrub the block with a dish spounge to get information technology off, the postage stamp is still sticky Can't wait to hear everyones ideas for it!

  • Scrappintrey

OK, just considering I am answering my own question doesn't mean I don't want to hear any more ideas...Merely...I found some "Crafter Cleanups" wipes by Inkadinkado in my scrapbook stash...I forgot I had them. It got the stuff off pretty good! I tin still see some on the block, merely information technology's definitely not as viscid! More than thoughts, please!

  • SuperAllyFan

I never employ versa mark considering of this trouble. I only utilize a apparently onetime clear ink pad and works also and no nasty residue!

  • Aumommie

Have y'all tried alcohol. I know it gets lots of mucilaginous stuff off for me.

  • Seaexplore

I use the staz-on cleaner for ink that'southward stubborn like that. I honey to employ the perfect medium postage pad for embossing considering information technology'due south Not sticky!

  • FutureRN22boys

i don't have a suggestion, but i do too have a ? My SIL borrowed some of my CTMH stamps and they came back all black and nasty like she didn't clean them, how tin can i go that off?! volition the staz-on cleaner get that off?

  • Seaexplore

The staz-on should work on them. I've been told that it damages the clear stamps merely haven't had information technology happen to mine yet. So, use it with caution!

    Hi!
I use the Staz-On cleaner for the Versa Mark.
(Peradventure another cleaner for oil or solvent based ink works on information technology.)
Versa Mark is an oil based ink.
And in that location'due south a solvent in the Staz-On cleaner.

So you'd better utilise solvent cleaner.
Mayhap, your sticky stamp will be clean, I think.
    (Notice:
In the case of your stamp was already damaged for some reason,
you should Not practice the manner I post.
Damaged rubber and articulate stamps tend to be more damaged past using solvent.
This is printed on the production characterization.

If yous try the way I post, please do it on your own responsibility.)

The impairment for clear stamps, Tiffany posted above, I haven't had information technology happen to mine, too.

Your favorite stamp. I wish yous the all-time of luck!

I've always used alcohol paw wipes or babe wipes and take never had any problem with a viscid residuum.

  • NoirCat

I apply a lite mixture of Dawn dishwashing soap in a spray bottle. (Versa Mark is oily! Dawn gets the oil out.) Then I rinse the stamp well and permit it dry out on a stone coaster. Fabricated out of the same stuff that a baking stone is made from and so it is pourice and the postage stamp drys on all sides.

  • Scrapperbee

SU has a cleaner and a pad to rub the stamp beyond--it'due south expensive and then I but use it when stamps are hard to clean; but it's not bad!

  • ScrappinSage

Aye, that's very odd because I ONLY utilise versa-marking and NEVER accept sticky residue. But, equally mentioned higher up, I apply infant wipes to clean my stamps and that might be the flim-flam!

I advise confronting alcohol or alcohol wipes equally the alcohol can damage the stamp safe.

  • Dancing Queen

I utilise "Un-Practise" for anything mucilaginous, lol. I sprayed adhesive on my kitchen tabular array (I had paper down, but at that place was overspray). My table was sticky, no matter how many times I scrubbed it. I dabbed a bit of United nations-Do on a paper towel and wiped it down, worked like a charm. I don't retrieve it would damage the prophylactic stamps...

  • Tia Hokee

I second the thought for using baby wipes to clean your stamps right after you lot apply them, and the thought of using Dawn and water in a spray water to get the sticky stuff off is brilliant!

  • Hanging By A Moment

I utilise the stamping up cleaner for all my stamps every fourth dimension.. I use it diluted nearly 50/50 ... when using versamark if I cant become it off I use information technology at the 100%. I always use versamark likewise.

  • ScrapCams

I as well utilize baby wipes, not-alc.. and I normally have no problems.. and sometimes I volition also use and quondam toothbrush on tip of the baby wipe..to remove hard to go ink or gluey residues off..
